John Legend Makes History As First Black Man To Win EGOT

John Legend makes history. Over the weekend, the 39 years old actor and singer made history when he won an Emmy at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards in Los Angeles. He won with Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice for producing the best variety special winner, “Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert.”

John is one of the few EGOT winners. Also, he became the first African-American man to sweep that honour. “EGOT” basically stands for four of the biggest awards in the entertainment industry Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.
